What Is the Newcomer Guidebook?
At United Society, we are building a comprehensive Newcomer Guidebook for Afghan and other immigrant families. Written in plain language, translated into Dari-Farsi and English, and beautifully designed, this guide will cover:
– How to enroll children in school
– Navigating public transportation
– Tenant and workplace rights
– Finding jobs and training programs
– Accessing healthcare and social services
– Understanding U.S. laws and cultural norms
The guidebook will be published both digitally and in print — distributed through community centers, nonprofits, and local events.
